Silver: Where Ddreamer Began

Silver has been at the heart of Ddreamer since we started in Saigon in 2014.

It is one of our favourite materials to work with because it is beautiful, versatile and gives us plenty of room to experiment.

925 Sterling Silver

Sterling silver normally contains 92.5% pure silver, with the remaining percentage made up of other metals that help give the alloy greater strength.

At Ddreamer, we also work with 940 silver, which we mix in-house. It contains 94% of silver. The choice of silver depends on the design, the techniques being used and the finish we want to achieve.

We care about the silver because the material is only the beginning. How it is shaped, soldered, textured, polished and finished makes just as much difference to the final piece.

Some surfaces are left bright and polished. Others are oxidized, hammered, textured or deliberately given a more worn character.

Silver gives us the freedom to make jewelry that feels clean, rough, delicate, bold or completely unexpected.

Gold: From Everyday Pieces to Fine Jewelry

Gold has become another important part of Ddreamer's work.

We work with different gold purities, allowing us to create pieces with different levels of colour, purity, strength and price.

24K Gold

We also work with 24K gold, which is the highest standard of gold purity commonly used in jewelry.

Because pure gold is naturally softer than lower-karat alloys, it is best suited to designs where its rich colour and high purity are the main attraction.

Whatever the karat, we focus on good workmanship and a finish that allows the material to speak for itself.

Gemstones: Every Stone Has Its Own Character

Gemstones can completely change the feeling of a piece.

Some catch the light with intense sparkle. Others are valued for their colour, texture, inclusions or natural imperfections.

At Ddreamer, we work with both lab-created stones and natural gemstones, depending on the design and what we want the finished piece to express.

Cubic Zirconia

Cubic zirconia, or CZ, is a lab-created gemstone known for its bright sparkle and clean appearance.

It gives us a beautiful way to add brilliance to jewelry while keeping the finished piece accessible for everyday wear.

Moissanite

Moissanite has a special place in our jewelry.

Natural moissanite is extremely rare. The stones used in modern jewelry are usually lab-created, giving them the same distinctive beauty without relying on naturally occurring moissanite.

Moissanite is especially loved for its strong fire, bright brilliance and excellent durability.

With a Mohs hardness of around 9.25, it is well suited to jewelry that is worn regularly.

Its sparkle is also quite different from diamond, with flashes of colour that can make it especially lively in the light.

Natural Gemstones

Natural gemstones are formed by nature, often over millions of years.

No two stones are exactly alike. Colour, inclusions, patterns and small imperfections are part of what makes natural stones interesting.

We select natural gemstones for individual designs based on their appearance, character and suitability for the piece.

When documentation or certification is available and relevant to a particular stone, we can provide further information on request.

Materials Are Only Half the Story

A good material does not automatically make good jewelry.

The other half is what happens at the bench.

Metal has to be shaped. Joints need to be made properly. Surfaces need to be finished. Stones need to be set with care.

That is where craftsmanship comes in.

We use traditional jewelry-making skills alongside modern tools and techniques. We also love experimenting with texture, hammers, heat, finishes and different ways of working with metal.

Sometimes we know exactly what we want to make. Sometimes we start experimenting and see where the metal takes us.

Those moments are part of what makes handmade jewelry special.

We don't believe jewelry should spend its whole life sitting safely in a box.

A ring should pick up a few scratches. A silver surface can change with time. A gemstone can catch the light differently as you move.
